Research Associate in Mathematical and Physical Sciences: The School of Mathematical and Physical Sciences at the University of Sheffield is looking to hire a talented Research Associate funded by an EPSRC grant, titled “Geometry from Donaldson-Thomas Invariants,” under the guidance of Professor Thomas Bridgeland. Eligibility/Qualification:
- A PhD or equivalent experience in algebra, geometry, or mathematical physics, or evidence of progress toward this qualification.
- Expertise in algebra, geometry, or theoretical physics, with specialized knowledge in one or more of the following areas: stability conditions, Donaldson-Thomas theory, topological string theory, mirror symmetry, cluster algebras, supersymmetric gauge theory, or non-abelian Hodge theory.
Job Description: The selected Research Associate will engage in cutting-edge research in a field associated with algebra, geometry, or mathematical physics. The role entails collaborative and independent research, contributions to the grant’s objectives, and potentially disseminating findings through publications and presentations.
