Eligibility/Qualification
- Master’s degree (MSc) in Chemistry or a closely related field
- Hands-on experience in routine organic synthesis and purification techniques
- Familiarity with characterization methods (UV-Vis, NMR, Mass Spectrometry, FT-IR)
- Interest or experience in chemical biology or biomedical applications
- Background in inorganic chemistry, coordination, and organometallic chemistry
- Curiosity-driven with the ability to independently plan and conduct experiments
- Strong communication skills in English
Job Description
The PhD candidate will engage in designing, synthesizing, and functionalizing metallacages from metal-ligand coordination, with a focus on gold and platinum-based systems. The project entails exploring tunable cavities for small molecule hosting, studying drug-target interactions utilizing advanced techniques like fluorescence spectroscopy and mass spectrometry, and leveraging the photoactive properties of metal-porphyrin systems for photocatalysis and sensing.
