Research Area
The research will focus on:
- Structural behavior of novel stainless steel built-up section members.
- Development of design rules and practical guidelines.
- Experimental characterization and numerical modeling using ABAQUS.
Eligibility/Qualification
Qualified candidates must:
- Hold a master’s degree in Civil Engineering or related disciplines.
- Have a strong academic profile (at least distinction in the master’s degree).
- Demonstrate enthusiasm for structural testing, finite element modeling, and sustainable construction.
- Be proficient in English (knowledge of Dutch is considered an asset).
Description
The position offers a full-time appointment for up to 4 years, providing a stimulating environment with significant flexibility. The candidate will conduct scientific investigations using advanced structural testing facilities, perform finite element modeling, and write research papers for publication. Teaching responsibilities in the Bachelor and Master of Science in Engineering Technology – Civil Engineering may also be included, along with the potential for consultancy activities based on research progress.
