Research Associate in Developmental Biology: The University of Sheffield is seeking an ambitious and creative developmental biologist to join Dr. Matt Towers’ research group. Eligibility/Qualification:

  • PhD in developmental biology or equivalent postdoctoral experience (or close to completion).
  • Practical experience in embryology.
  • Strong theoretical knowledge of developmental biology.
  • Desirable: Experience with light-sheet/confocal microscopy, HCR in situ techniques, RNA/ATAC-sequencing, and bioinformatics.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and communication skills.

Job Description:
As a Research Associate, you will play a pivotal role in a three-year research program focused on investigating how skeletal patterns are specified in chick limbs. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to design and implement experiments using innovative systems, including a new chick wing tissue explant system and catshark embryos. The position offers an opportunity to develop your independence, supervise students, and contribute to high-impact developmental biology research.
