Eligibility/Qualification

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • Research-oriented attitude.
  • Strong background in machine learning and optimization methods.
  • Knowledge of (wireless) communication and networking technologies.
  • Experience in embedded system design and programming (C++, Python, etc.).
  • Ability to work in an interdisciplinary team and interest in collaboration with industrial partners.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English.

Job Description
The PhD project will tackle the challenges of ensuring ultra-reliable, low-latency, and deterministic communication within modern CPS. The candidate will:

  • Develop optimization methods for network configuration and control.
  • Design lightweight learning-based techniques for automated scheduling and resource allocation.
  • Co-design algorithms with edge hardware and embedded platforms focused on efficiency, timing, and energy constraints.
  • Validate concepts through prototyping and experimental evaluation in collaboration with academic and industrial partners.
