Research Area

The research will emphasize the design, implementation, and analysis of practical lattice-based cryptographic primitives that provide security against quantum-capable adversaries.

Eligibility/Qualification

  • Applicants should hold or expect to obtain an MSc degree or equivalent by Spring 2026.
  • Solid background in mathematics or theoretical computer science, with prior exposure to cryptography.
  • Experience in lattice-based cryptography or related fields is preferred.
  • Programming experience in Python/SageMath/Magma, C/C++, Java, and/or Verilog HDL is highly desirable.

Description

Successful candidates will work on cutting-edge problems at the intersection of cryptographic theory and practical deployment. The focus will be on high-performance implementations, scalability for real-world systems, and protection against implementation-level threats such as side-channel attacks. The four-year position will begin on September 1, 2026, and the candidate will work as a junior research fellow under the supervision of Sedat Akleylek.
