Eligibility/Qualification:
- PhD in Developmental Biology, Biophysics, Cell Biology, or in final stages of PhD submission.
- Strong expertise in advanced confocal and/or light sheet imaging.
- Proficient in quantitative image analysis approaches.
- Excellent molecular biology skills.
- Interest in interdisciplinary research approaches.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
Job Description:
As a Postdoctoral Fellow, you will engage with cutting-edge research focused on fundamental questions in tissue and organ biology by leveraging zebrafish models. Key objectives include:
- Understanding how mechanics, cell dynamics, and geometry influence tissue patterning.
- Investigating the formation of 3D topological meshworks.
- Exploring the maintenance of nuclear integrity in developing organs.
- Analyzing physical principles of organ scaling and regeneration.
- Studying the role of bioelectricity in morphogenesis.
- Examining the interplay between mechanics and metabolism in heart development.
You will utilize advanced microscopy, image analysis, genetic and optical perturbations, and biophysical techniques. Collaboration with theoreticians will also be integral to your research.
