Eligibility/Qualification
- Minimum Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in biology, engineering, zoology, or a related field (must be conferred before the official start date).
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Expertise in functional morphology, comparative biomechanics, animal behavior, ichthyology, zoology, paleontology, or materials science.
- Experience with kinematic data collection and IACUC-approved protocols.
- Proven record of publishing research in peer-reviewed journals.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Intermediate programming skills (R, Python, LabVIEW).
Job Description
The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Lead and execute laboratory experiments and analyses.
- Write and submit manuscripts to peer-reviewed journals.
- Present research findings at professional conferences.
- Mentor undergraduate research assistants.
- Maintain the animal care facility and supervise research assistants.
- Conduct and analyze micro-CT scans.
- Develop computer code as needed for research projects.
- Maintain detailed records of data and metadata.
