Eligibility/Qualification–

Applicants must possess a degree from a recognized University/Institute in any of the following:

Educational Qualification

Master’s Degree

• MBA
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience

OR

Doctoral Degree

• Ph.D. or higher qualification
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience

Experience Required

Candidates should have:

• Proven experience in innovation management.
• Experience in technology commercialization.

Preference will be given to candidates having served as:

• Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
• Chief Operating Officer (COO)
• Centre Manager
• Head of a BIRAC incubator
• Technology Transfer Office leader
• Innovation ecosystem manager

Age Limit

Job/Position Description- 

The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Bhopal has invited applications for the post of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for its EDGE (Enabling Development and Growth of Enterprises) Centre under the BIRAC-funded project. This is a contractual, project-based position offering a consolidated salary of up to ₹1,75,000 per month. Candidates with strong experience in innovation, startup incubation, technology commercialization, and entrepreneurship management are encouraged to apply. Designation: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

The selected CEO will lead the EDGE Centre and be responsible for:

• Providing strategic leadership for the Centre’s long-term growth.
• Managing startup incubation and accelerator programs.
• Promoting entrepreneurship development initiatives.
• Facilitating technology transfer and commercialization.
• Building partnerships with industry, academia, investors, and government organizations.
• Mobilizing resources through grants, sponsorships, and investments.
• Mentoring startups in business planning, fundraising, scaling, and investment readiness.
• Managing financial planning, compliance, and governance.
• Leading and developing a high-performing innovation team.
• Representing the Centre at conferences, networking events, and strategic meetings.
• Enhancing the national reputation and impact of the EDGE Centre.

Salary & Contract Details

• Consolidated salary of up to ₹1,75,000 per month.
• No additional HRA, TA, DA, or other allowances.
• Initial appointment for one year.
• Renewable annually based on:
  • Performance evaluation
  • Availability of project funds
  • Funding agency guidelines
• Maximum tenure: Three years or till completion of the project, whichever is earlier.
• The appointment is purely temporary and contractual.
• The position does not confer any right to permanent employment at IISER Bhopal.
