Eligibility & Qualifications
To be considered for this position, you must meet the following criteria:
- Degree: You hold a Master’s degree in Physics, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Academic Record: You can provide evidence of excellent study results.
- Technical Skills: You have hands-on experience with MATLAB and dynamic systems.
- Preferred Experience: Prior experience in Optometry, Neuroscience, and/or Structural Engineering is highly recommended.
- Language: Excellent oral and written command of English.
- Attributes: High integrity, quality-mindedness, creativity, and a collaborative spirit in line with university research policies.
Job Description
As a doctoral researcher, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Actively working at VOLANTIS to prepare and publicly defend a PhD thesis on human eye growth mathematical modeling.
- Drawing up a detailed research plan and methodology in consultation with your supervisor(s).
- Conducting high-standard research efficiently (with opportunities to work abroad) and competing for external/internal predoctoral funding.
- Reporting progress regularly to supervisors/committees and presenting findings at international scientific conferences.
- Contributing scientifically to existing research projects within and beyond your primary doctoral scope.
