Eligibility/Qualification

Essential Qualification

Candidates must possess either:

• Ph.D. or equivalent degree, OR
• M.E./M.Tech. with at least 3 years of research, teaching, or design & development experience, and
• At least one research paper published in an SCI-indexed journal.

Job/Position Description- 

The Indian Institute of Information Technology Allahabad (IIIT Allahabad) invites applications for one Research Associate-I (RA-I) position under the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), Department of Space, RESPOND Programme. The selected candidate will work on the research project “AI-based Embedded System for Spacecraft Health Monitoring” under the supervision of Prof. Sonali Agarwal, Department of Information Technology.

The position focuses on the development of AI-driven embedded systems for spacecraft health monitoring, with opportunities to work in areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Embedded Systems, Edge Computing, Signal Processing, and Space Systems.

Summary Table

Designation: Research Associate-I (RA-I) — On Contract

The selected Research Associate-I will primarily work on the ISRO RESPOND project “AI-based Embedded System for Spacecraft Health Monitoring.”

Key responsibilities include:

• Conducting research related to AI-based spacecraft health monitoring.
• Developing and implementing software and hardware solutions.
• Working with AI, ML, embedded systems, and related technologies.
• Conducting experiments and analysing research results.
• Supporting project implementation and technical development.
• Preparing technical documentation and reports.
• Writing and publishing research outcomes in reputed journals/conferences.
• Contributing to project-related software development.
• Performing other research and technical assignments assigned by the Principal Investigator.

The appointment is initially for one year and may be extended up to the completion of the project, subject to satisfactory performance, availability of funds, and approval from the funding agency.

Salary / Stipend

The selected candidate will receive:

₹58,000 per month + 20% HRA

as per applicable ISRO/DoS RESPOND norms for Research Associate-I.
