Position Summary
The Postdoctoral Research Associate will develop novel computational methods focusing on knowledge-grounded artificial intelligence, large language models (LLMs), retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), systems modeling, and data harmonization. Eligibility & Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Ph.D. or equivalent in Computer Science, Computational Biology, Biomedical Engineering, or a closely related discipline by the start date of the appointment.
- Domain Expertise: Demonstrated track record in at least one of the following domains:
- Knowledge-grounded AI, knowledge graphs, LLMs, and RAG architectures.
- Systems and mathematical modeling of biological or complex systems.
- Natural language processing (NLP) and machine learning (ML).
- Data harmonization and biomedical data integration.
- Research Productivity: Strong scholarly record demonstrated through peer-reviewed publications, open-source software repositories, or other research outputs.
- Soft Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to collaborate effectively in an interdisciplinary environment; interest in mentoring junior researchers.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong software engineering practices and dedication to reproducible computational research.
- Direct experience applying machine learning or computational models to biomedical and life science datasets.

The appointed Postdoctoral Research Associate will be expected to:
- Conduct high-impact research in knowledge-grounded AI, systems modeling, NLP, and biomedical data integration.
- Lead the development and release of robust, reusable open-source scientific software.
- Benchmark computational pipelines against real-world biological and clinical applications.
- Author peer-reviewed journal papers and present research findings at top-tier conferences.
- Assist in preparing grant applications and research proposals.
- Collaborate closely with scientific software engineers, academic partners, and external stakeholders.
- Mentor graduate and undergraduate research assistants within the lab.
Salary and Benefits
The expected hiring salary range for this position is $60,315.00 to $85,192.50, commensurate with education, experience, and skill set.
