Eligibility/Qualification–
Essential Qualification:
a. (i) Master’s degree in Science (Botany/Zoology/Environment) or Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering as the minimum qualification with good knowledge of M.S. Office and (ii) experience in the field of conservation and management of wetlands for
a minimum period of 5 years
(OR)
b. Retired Government Employees with (i) Grade pay of Rs. 6600/- and above and knowledge of M.S. Office and experience in the field of conservation and management of wetlands for a minimum period of 5 years
Desirable Work Experience: Government Sector experience in handling tasks like preparation/reviewing wetland information documents (Management Plans, Ramsar Information Sheets, Brief Documents, Health Cards etc.), coordinating with state government officials, NGOs, third party organizations etc.
Age Limit: The maximum age limit is 65 years as on 31st December 2020
Job/Position Description-
Applications are invited for one available position of a Consultant ‘B’ in Wetlands Division of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change on contractual basis with a payment of consolidated monthly fee of Rs. 80,000/-.
The general conditions of engagement, tenure, remuneration, leave, increment and selection would be per the guidelines of the Ministry for engagement of consultants
Terms of Reference for the engagement of Consultant in Wetlands Division, MoEF&CC
i. Objective: The consultant shall contribute to the tasks of the Wetlands Division for conservation and management of the wetlands of the country.
ii. Outline of the tasks to be carried out:
a) Designating more Ramsar sites in the country and updating the Ramsar Information Sheets (RIS) of the existing sites
b) Operationalizing a National Wetland Information and Database Management System
c) Implementation of the Phase 2 of the Wetlands Rejuvenation Programme across the country.
d) Other technical support for the tasks of the division for wetlands conservation and management
iii. Schedule for completion of the tasks: The schedule for completion of the tasks would be initially for one year which can be extended for another two years (1+1). At the end of 1st year of consultancy period, the achievement of the outlined tasks would be considered for renewal and the tasks may then be reviewed and revised as per the need of the Division.
iv. Reporting and Support of MoEF&CC The consultant shall report to Scientist ‘F’/‘E’ of the Wetlands Division, who shall also guide the consultant in the assigned tasks.
v. Final Outputs: By the end of consultancy period, the consultant shall have to display considerable achievements in the tasks outlined above and as revised during the consultancy period.
