Eligibility/Qualification–
- Be a PhD degree holder in the relevant/ allied branch of Engineering/ Science/ Management/ Humanities and Social Sciences.
- All the degrees acquired by the candidate must be in first class, with at least one degree from CFTI/ Centrally Funded Institutes.
- Apply within five years after completing his/ her PhD.
- The candidates who have completed their PhD under the supervision/ cosupervision of the faculty members from NIT Warangal can apply for the fellowship after 3 years of completion of their PhD degree.
- The maximum age that will be allowed is 35. Relaxation in age will be as per Government of India norms for recruitment of faculty.
SELECTION CRITERIA
- A proposal must be submitted by the aspiring post-doctoral fellow with the consent of a faculty member of NIT Warangal as a mentor. The proposal submitted by the fellow must not be mere extension of the PhD work. The expertise brought in by the applicant will be an important criterion in the selection process.
- Candidate must have a minimum of three SCI/ ESCI/ SCIE indexed publications. iii. Reservations as per Government of India norms will be followed.
Job/Position Description-
PERIOD OF ENGAGEMENT
The duration of the fellowship will be for a period of 3 years. However, initially the offer will be made for two years and extendable for one more year based on performance evaluation. Review will be conducted every year. Review will be based on quantifiable outcomes based on the deliverables proposed in the initial proposal and publications. A central Project Monitoring Committee (PMC) may evaluate the progress and recommend the extension.
FELLOWSHIP AND OTHER BENEFITS
- A fellowship of Rs. 60,000 per month plus HRA will be offered throughout the duration of the engagement.
- The fellowship offered is purely temporary in nature and the fellowship may be terminated by the Institute at any point in time by giving one month notice based on the performance/ conduct of the fellow. Similarly, the post-doctoral fellow must give one month notice if he/ she wants to discontinue the fellowship.
- The post-doctoral fellows engaged by the Institute will not be eligible to receive any other fellowship from Government/ non-Governmental sources during the period of engagement.
- A contingency grant of Rs. 1,00,000 per annum towards purchasing consumables, attending conferences (within India), meeting publication charges etc., will be made available to the fellow on the recommendation of the mentor. If the candidate discontinues within one year of joining the fellowship, he/ she must return the contingency grant availed by him/ her.
The application fee is Rs. 1600/- for GEN/ GEN-EWS/ OBC-NCL candidates and Rs.
800/- for SC/ ST/ PwD candidates.
