Eligibility-
Essential Qualification/Experience as per the norms
- Obtained greater than 55% marks in 10th and 12th exams
- Obtained greater than 60% marks in graduation
- PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering,
- Mechatronics, or a related engineering field Track record of publications in reputed peer-reviewed journals
Desirable Qualification/Experience
- Expertise in CAD modeling and simulation
- Experience with instrumentation, MATLAB/Python automation, or optical setups (e.g., Raman spectroscopy)
- Experience in microfabrication techniques or rapid prototyping (3D printing, CNC milling)
- Proficiency in COMSOL Multiphysics (Fluid Flow, Heat Transfer) or ANSYS
- Familiarity with medical device regulatory standards and intellectual property drafting

Job/Position Description-
As a postdoctoral fellow in the Jain Lab at IIT Gandhinagar, your role would be to lead multiple projects design, simulate, and manufacture automated fluidic/microfluidic systems for ex vivo organ perfusion and cancer diagnostic applications. Your day to day activities may include integrating optical sensors, pumps, and heating systems into functional medical devices, performing multi-physics simulations to optimize fluid dynamics and mass transport within devices, draft patent applications and technical documentation for commercial translation, and mentor graduate students in mechanical design, fabrication, and instrumentation, among others. You may also need to collaborate with surgeons/oncologists to source and process clinical tissue samples, engineers/designers to develop medical devices, or industry/startup partners to develop translatable technologies. Additionally, you may be required to support lab development activities such as purchasing equipment and supporting the development of new protocols and processes for the lab.
