Job Description:
- Conduct research on the physiology and pharmacology of the K2P family of potassium leak channels
- Collaborate with Dr. Paul Riegelhaupt and other team members to design and execute experiments
- Utilize protein purification techniques, structural biology methods, and/or ion channel electrophysiology approaches in the project
- Work independently to generate and analyze data, interpret results, and contribute to publications and presentations
- Foster scientific independence and engage in collaborative and interdisciplinary research
- Participate in departmental and institutional research sessions and collaborations with other laboratories
- Mentoring of junior lab members and assisting in their scientific development
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in the field of structural biology and related areas
