Research Associate/Fellow in Surface Analysis: The School of Pharmacy at the University of Nottingham is inviting applications for the position of Research Associate/Fellow in Surface Analysis – Mass Spectrometry Imaging of Polysaccharides. Salary: £30,487 to £33,966 per annum (pro rata if applicable) depending on skills and experience (£33,966 with relevant PhD).
Eligibility/Qualification:
- PhD or equivalent (pending or awarded) in chemistry/analytical chemistry/mass spectrometry or a relevant discipline.
- Past experience in working within a multidisciplinary team in an academic setting.
- Essential experience with surface analysis, and specific knowledge of SIMS analysis is highly desirable.
Job Description:
Research Associate/Fellow in Surface Analysis – Mass Spectrometry Imaging of Polysaccharides (Fixed term)
The role involves optimizing and acquiring SIMS data on biological samples supplied by international collaborators. The Research Associate/Fellow will play a key role in building and maintaining collaborations with partner institutions, including visits and hosting researchers. Responsibilities include day-to-day management of the research project, requiring excellent time management, organizational skills, and precision in results generation and data analysis. Critical thinking, accurate record-keeping, and a flexible approach to collaborative research are vital.
This full-time post (36.25 hours per week) is offered on a fixed-term contract for 13 months, with the possibility of job share arrangements.
