Eligibility/Qualification-

Applicants must possess:

  • B.E./B.Tech. and/or M.E./M.Tech. (or equivalent) in the relevant discipline.
  • Ph.D. in the relevant area.

Remuneration

  • ₹80,000 per month – Candidates awarded a Ph.D.
  • ₹70,000 per month – Candidates who have submitted their Ph.D. thesis and are awaiting the degree.
  • ₹49,650 per month – (Applicable for Aerospace Engineering only) Candidates possessing B.E./B.Tech. and M.E./M.Tech. in the relevant field.

Job/Position Description- 

The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Delhi has released Advertisement No. 08/2026 inviting applications for Assistant Professor (Purely on Temporary Basis) through a Walk-in Interview. Recruitment is available across five engineering departments for the Autumn Semester 2026. Selected candidates will receive a monthly remuneration of up to ₹80,000 depending on their qualifications and Ph.D. status.

Selected candidates will:

  • Teach undergraduate and postgraduate engineering courses.
  • Deliver lectures in their respective departments.
  • Support academic activities during the Autumn Semester 2026.
  • Contribute to departmental teaching and related academic responsibilities.
  • Work on a purely temporary contractual basis as per NIT Delhi norms.

Eligible candidates should attend the Walk-in Interview in person with the following documents:

  • Duly filled application form in the prescribed format.
  • Original educational certificates and supporting documents for verification.
  • One set of self-attested photocopies of all certificates.
  • Valid Government-issued Photo ID.
  • Experience certificates (if applicable).
  • Any other supporting documents mentioned in the application form.

Important Notes

  • Document Verification (DV) will be conducted before the interview.
  • Candidates found ineligible during verification will not be allowed to appear for the interview.
  • No TA/DA will be paid.
  • Entry for the walk-in process closes at 2:00 PM.
  • Candidates reporting after the prescribed reporting time will not be permitted to participate.
