About- CSIR-Central Electrochemical Research Institute (CSIR-CECRI), Karaikudi, is a premier institute working under the aegis of Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), an autonomous body functions under Department of Science & Technology, involved in multidisciplinary R&D programmes in the domain of Electrochemical Science and Technology. The thrust areas of research include Corrosion & Materials Protection, Electrochemical Power Sources, Electroplating & Metal Finishing, Electrochemical Process Engineering, Electro-organic & Materials Electrochemistry, Electrodics & Electrocatalysis,Networking Systems and Instrumentation. CSIR-CECRI aims to play a catalytic role for stimulating the growth of electrochemical industries in the country by nurturing academic excellence & creativity.

Unit Locations:
- Mandapam Unit (some posts specifically earmarked)
- Candidates are liable to be posted at Karaikudi, Mandapam or other CSIR‑CECRI units and have All India Service Liability (AISL).
- Shift and odd‑hours work may be required as per institutional needs.

Conduct high‑quality R&D
- Execute independent and collaborative research projects in assigned domains (electrochemical energy, corrosion, electrometallurgy, marine corrosion, etc.).
- Design experiments, develop prototypes, and generate high‑impact publications and patents.
Contribute to CSIR’s large multi‑institutional programmes

7. Pay, Benefits & Service Conditions (Key Points)

Pay Level: Level‑11 (7th CPC), with approximate total emoluments of Rs. 1,19,424/- p.m. at Karaikudi (Class ‘Z’ city).
