About- The Indian Maritime University invites applications from distinguished professionals for the post of Professor of Practice ( PoP) ( On Contract) in the School of Marine Engineering and the School of Nautical Science.

Eligibility/Qualification/Job/Position Description-

1. FACULTY (MARINE ENGINEERING) Educational & other qualifications required:

Essential: a) MEO Class – I (Motor) Certificate of Competency issued by Directorate General of Shipping, Government of India. Sailing experience for a minimum period of six months at Management level within the meaning of STCW Convention, as amended.VICT / TOTA Course Certificate or Willingness to do before joining
Desirable: a) Six months of teaching / training experience in Maritime Training Institute(s) in India – Desirable b) TSTA Course Certificate.
Responsibilities: Teaching/training to Inland Vessel Crew (Maharashtra Maritime Board) & GP Rating Induction Course (Engine)
Age: Preferably below 62 Years

2. FACULTY (NAUTICAL SCIENCE) Educational & other qualifications required:

Essential: a) Master (Foreign Going) Certificate of Competency issued by Directorate General of Shipping, Government of India. Sailing experience for a minimum period of six months at Management level within the meaning of STCW Convention, as amended.VICT / TOTA Course Certificate or Willingness to do before joining
Desirable: a) Six months of teaching / training experience in Maritime Training Institute(s) in India – Desirable b) TSTA Course Certificate.
Responsibilities: Teaching/training to Inland Vessel Crew (Maharashtra Maritime Board) & GP Rating Induction Course (Deck)
Age: Preferably below 62 Years

3. FACULTY (RADIO COMMUNICATION) Educational & other qualifications required:

Essential: a) Valid GMDSS (GOC) issued by Wireless Planning & Co-ordination Wing, Department of Telecommunications, Ministry of Communication, Government of India. Six months of Sea Service as Radio Officer within the meaning of STCW Convention, as amended. VICT / TOTA Course Certificate / Willingness to undertake.
Desirable: a) Valid COP (Second Class) issued by Wireless Planning & Co-ordination Wing, Department of Telecommunications, Ministry of Communication, Government of India. b) Six months of teaching/training experience in GMDSS Course in MTIs in India – Desirable
Responsibilities:Teaching / Training to candidates attending GMDSS Course
Age: Preferably below 62 years

Mode of Selection: Interview & Demo Lecture . NO TA/DA will be admissible for the interview.
