Eligibility/Qualification–
- ASSISTANT PROFESSOR (Grade-I):
Pay Level 12 under 7 th CPC. For direct recruits, minimum basic pay to be fixed at Rs. 1,01,500/- in Pay Level 12, Cell No. 01.
Additionally, allowances as applicable shall also be admissible.
- Qualification: The candidate must have Ph.D. in a relevant area with first class or equivalent grades at the preceding degree and with consistently good academic record.
- Experience: Candidates must have at least three years of relevant teaching/ research/industrial experience as on date of the selection committee meeting. Candidates with less than 3 years of post-Ph.D. experience may be considered for a contractual position of Assistant Professor Grade II with appropriate pay based on the number of years of post-doctoral experience.
- Age:Preferably below 35 years.
- ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR:
Pay Level – 13A2 under 7th CPC. For direct recruits, the minimum basic pay in this Pay Level shall be Rs. 139600/- (Pay Level-13A2, Cell No. 01) plus applicable allowances.
- Qualification: The candidate must have Ph.D. with first class or equivalent grades at the preceding degree in the appropriate branch with a very good academic record throughout.
- Experience: A minimum of six years’ teaching/industry/ research experience of which 3 years should be at the level of Assistant Professor (Grade-I), Senior Scientific Officer/Senior Design Engineer in a research organization or industry.
- In addition to these requirements, institute will use shortlisting criteria based on academics, research and outreach performance expected for the post like number of PhDs supervised, projects handled patents and technology transfer etc.
- Age: Preferably below 45 years.
- PROFESSOR:
Pay Level – 14A; cell – 1 Pay matrix: 1,59,100-Rs.2,20,200 under 7th CPC. For direct recruits, the minimum basic pay in this Pay Level shall be Rs. 1,59,100/- (Pay Level-14A, Cell No. 01) plus applicable allowances.
- Qualification: The candidate must have Ph.D. with first class or equivalent grades at the preceding degree in the appropriate branch with a very good academic record throughout.
- Experience: A minimum of 10 years post-Ph.D teaching/research/professional experience of which at least 4 years should be at the level of Associate Professor in IITs, IISc, IISERs, IIMs or at an equivalent level in any other Indian/Foreign Universities/Institutions of comparable level. The candidate should have demonstrated leadership in research in a specific area, with an excellent record of publications in reputed journals and conferences and should have graduated Ph.D students. Candidates should also have demonstrated excellent teaching abilities at higher educational institutions. It is desirable that the candidate has carried out laboratory development/course development/technology development/innovative work leading to patents and has generated sufficient funding for research. It is also desirable that the candidate has external recognition in the area of specialization. Teaching and Ph.D guidance requirements may be relaxed for candidates from research labs if they have an exceptional research record.
