About- Applications are invited for a scholarship opportunity in the Department of Medical Microbiology at the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education & Research in Chandigarh. The scholarship is for a research post on fungal keratitis, focusing on new and challenging approaches. The scholarship includes a master’s degree with a Ph.D. in relevant subjects and requires four years of experience or a second-class master’s degree. Candidates with knowledge of yeast genome and bioinformatics will be preferred. The last date for submission of applications is April 20, 2023, and the date of the online interview is April 25, 2023.

Eligibility/Qualification: The candidate must have a 1st Class M.Sc. degree in Life Sciences from a recognized university with a minimum of 4 years of research experience preferably in the same subject or a 2nd Class M.Sc. degree in Life Sciences from a recognized university plus a PhD degree in relevant subjects as per ICMR guidelines.

Job Description: The Scientist-C will be responsible for the surveillance of antifungal resistance in India and laboratory support in optimizing antifungal therapy at ICMR Nodal Coordinating Center. The role involves conducting research, collecting data, analyzing results, and presenting findings in conferences and publications. The Scientist-C will also supervise and guide junior research staff.
