Research Focus & Role
The focus of this NLP+ML position includes, but is not limited to:
- Multimodal and embodied semantics
- Human-like language generation and Q&A/dialogue
- Interpretable and generalizable deep learning
Responsibilities include:
- Aiding the research of graduate students on NLP+ML projects.
- Leading research directions complementary to lab goals.
- Creating a research agenda with some freedom.
- Advising graduate and undergraduate students.
- Collaborating with other AI faculty (vision/robotics/ML).
- Optional opportunities to teach courses.
Eligibility & Qualifications
- Required: PhD in Computer Science or EE/ECE (received before the start date) focusing on machine learning applied to natural language processing, computer vision, or a related area.
- Competencies:
- Strong publication record in NLP, ML, or related areas.
- Strong programming skills, specifically in TensorFlow and/or PyTorch.
- Demonstrated communication, teamwork, and leadership skills.
