About- The Institute for Stem Cell Science and Regenerative Medicine (inStem) is an Autonomous institute of the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Government of India.  inStem shares a campus with the National Centre for Biological Sciences (NCBS-TIFR), and the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Platforms (c-CAMP), which together constitute the Bangalore Life Science Cluster.

Eligibility/Qualification–

Essential qualifications: 

PhD degree in any branch of Life Sciences from a recognised university or Institute. 

Candidates should have demonstrated experience in the following: 

  • Research requiring cell biology techniques, including culturing, stock maintenance, transfection and transduction
  • Immunostaining and microscopic imaging capabilities.
  • Protein extraction and biochemical analyses of cellular proteins including proteomics
  • Ability to work with animal models including handling, injection, dissection and tissue processing of mouse models

We are looking for dedicated professionals who are result-oriented, can assimilate, analyze and communicate data effectively and are excellent team players capable of working in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment.

Postdoctoral Fellow – I Rs. 58,000/- + 27% HRA No. of Post-0[1]  Age Limit – 40 yearsCandidates with strong background and experience in cell biology, protein biochemistry, advanced imaging and molecular biology are encouraged to apply. Previous experience with animal handling, animal physiology and/or computational biology will also be an asset.   

Candidates must have a good scientific record with at least 1 first author paper published from their PhD work in an international peer-reviewed journal of repute.  

The candidate is expected to design and manage the work independently, have good organizational skills, work in an interdisciplinary team, and handle multiple tasks. They will also be responsible for data documentation, validation and compilation, for preparation of manuscripts.  They are expected to participate in project team meetings and contribute to the projects scientifically and intellectually.  

Tenure:  Contractual appointment for 11 Eleven months, renewable based on requirement and review of progress and requirement of the Grant.
