Research/Job Area- Food process engineering, food chemistry/science, chemical engineering ( Food Safety and Sustainability Engineering)

Location- University of Alberta, Canada

Eligibility/Qualification– The position requires a researcher with experience in ACP characterization, engineering design and development of ACP systems and mycotoxin analysis. The candidate will work with a multidisciplinary research team including graduate students and industry partners.

  • PhD in food process engineering, food chemistry/science, chemical engineering;
  • Experience in ACP technology research in food processing;
  • Experience in fungal spore and mycotoxin analysis and characterization;
  • Strong engineering skills
  • Demonstrated record of research productivity
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in interdisciplinary research project

Job/Position Description-  Research group is looking for a post-doctoral fellow to join our research group, in the interdisciplinary area of mycotoxin degradation in feed/food products by atmospheric cold plasma (ACP) technology. The successful candidate will conduct research in following areas:  Effect of process and product parameters on mycotoxin and fungal spore degradation by ACP technology  Plasma characterization and plasma chemistry at different process conditions  Fungal inactivation mechanisms and mycotoxin degradation mechanisms/pathways
