Research/Job Area-

Selected candidates will work under the following faculty members:

Biomaterials & Tissue Engineering – Ion channel-responsive biomaterials
Microbiome & Metabolomics – AI/ML, LCMS/MS, NGS, metagenomics
Plant Biology – Cellular homeostasis and plant systems
Neuroscience – GABA systems, neuropeptides, brain energy balance
Microbial Cell Biology – Actin-like protein assembly
Immunology – Infection, tumor immunity, inflammation
Plant Genetic Engineering – CRISPR, metabolic engineering (tomato)
Insect Microbiome Ecology – Host-gut interactions
Phage Biology – Environmental phageome mining
Nanobiotechnology – Smart biomaterials and drug delivery
Genetics & Epigenetics – Aging, neurodegeneration, cancer
Cellular Trafficking – Membrane biogenesis and remodeling

Location- Bhubaneshwar, Odisha

Eligibility/Qualification–

A PhD degree in a relevant field of Life Sciences is mandatory. Additional specific expertise as per the selected research group is required. Strong research background with publications is preferred. Candidates must demonstrate independent research ability and teamwork skills.

Position Description–

The School of Biological Sciences at the National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), India, invites applications from Indian Nationals and Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) for multiple Post-Doctoral Fellow (PDF) positions. These positions span diverse interdisciplinary research areas including biomaterials, microbiome studies, plant biology, neuroscience, molecular biology, immunology, and bioinformatics. Candidates will work under leading faculty members on cutting-edge biological research projects.
