About- Applications are invited for a temporary post of Post Doctoral Fellow in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at IIT Madras, focusing on sustainable cooling and heating systems using natural refrigerants.

Eligibility/Qualification–
PhD in Mechanical Engineering from a reputed university or institute related to Machine Vibration OR Stochastic Signal Processing with at least 2 publications in reputed journals
The selected candidate will work on the development of real-time diagnostics and prognostics systems as part of a HAL research project. The role will primarily involve:
- Developing a Graphical User Interface (GUI) for ingesting, processing, analysing, and visualising the procured data.
- Acquisition and processing of current, speed, vibration, temperature, noise, and other real-time signals from machines under operation, and subsequent stochastical signal processing.
- Development and implementation of machine learning algorithms for fault detection, classification, and prediction of Remaining Useful Life (RUL) of machine components.
- Work closely with the industrial partner (HAL) on software and GUI integration, including travel to the industrial partner’s site.
- Preparation of technical reports, documents, research reports, and other relevant files for technical and research activities.
Essential Technical Skills:
- Experience with LabVIEW for sensor interfacing, data acquisition, and Graphical User Interface (GUI) preparation.
- Proficiency in MATLAB for signal analysis, system modelling, and RUL prediction
- Working knowledge of Python for machine learning, data processing, and data visualisation
- Solid foundation in Signal Processing concepts (e.g., Time Domain, Frequency Domain, and Time-Frequency domain)
