About- Applications are invited for the temporary post of Post Doctoral Researcher, Department of Applied Mechanics and Biomedical Engineering, IIT Madras.

Location- IIT Madras, India


  • PhD in Biotechnology / Biological Sciences/ Immunology/ Cancer biology/ Nanotechnology selected through a process described through any one of the following:
  • Scholars who are selected through National Eligibility Tests – CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professor) and GATE
  • The selection process through National level examinations conducted by central government Departments and their Agencies and institutions such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MHRD, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc, IISER etc.
  • Strong background in cancer immunotherapy and vaccine development
  • Expertise in nanoparticle synthesis and characterization techniques
  • Proficiency in experimental design, data analysis, and interpretation
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Preferred skills/work experience:

  • Mammalian Culture Experience, Hands on Expertise with cancer Cell culture
  • Immunologist, Cancer Vaccines
  • Nanotherapeutics for Cancer  

Experience:  Prior research experience involving the above preferred.

Job/Position Description- 

Co-ordinator: Dr. Swathi Sudhakar, Department of Applied Mechanics and Biomedical Engineering, IIT Madras.

Duration: Initially for one year, later extendable based on the performance

Post Doctoral Researcher  Rs.55,000/-to Rs.65,000/- Per Month    

Project Summary:

Ø As a Cancer Nanovaccine Research Scientist, you will play a pivotal role in our efforts to develop novel nanovaccine-based therapies for cancer. Working closely with our interdisciplinary team of scientists and researchers, you will be responsible for designing, executing, and analyzing experiments aimed at advancing our understanding of cancer nanovaccines and translating these insights into actionable therapeutic strategies. Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and synthesizing nanoparticle-based vaccine formulations
  • Evaluating vaccine efficacy in preclinical models of cancer
  • Investigating mechanisms of immune response activation and tumor targeting
  • Contributing to scientific publications, grant applications, and intellectual property development
