BEDF, New Delhi, India invites applications for Principal Scientist Post at BEDF from eligible and interested candidates

About- Basmati Export Development Foundation (BEDF), a society registered under Societies Registration Act, 1860, has been founded by Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA). BEDF in furtherance of its objective has setup a state of the Art laboratory and Demonstration cum Training (D&T) Farm at the campus of SVP University of Agriculture and Technology, Modipurram, UP. The activities undertaken at these facilities include: Quality Assurance in Export; Authorized Centre For Samples Drawn By Customs; Production Of Basmati Breeder / Foundation Seed; Farmers Awareness And Capacity Building; Implementation Of Basmati Registration As Geographical Indication (GI) Product; Working with CDFD, Hyderabad, for Extension of DNA Testing Protocol for Inclusion of New Notified Varieties of Basmati Rice; Quality analysis For National Basmati Trials; etc;.

Research/Job Area- Plant Molecular Biology /Bio-Technology or related discipline

Location- BEDF (BASMATI EXPORT DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION), New Delhi, India

Eligibility/Qualification–

Essential:

Ph.D. in Plant Molecular Biology /Bio-Technology or related discipline with specialization in plant molecular biology from a recognized University and Post Ph.D. work experience of 07 years on DNA Profiling/ DNA Sequencing/ Other Molecular Techniques.

Desirable:

Good knowledge of Rice/ Basmati Rice
Knowledge of International Standards for Quality Management Systems such as ISO/IEC.
Well versed with handling equipment like Genetic Analyser, ICP/MS, LCMS/MS and GCMS/MS etc.

Age (maximum)

Not more than 62 years of age as on the date of interview.

Period of appointment	Initially for a period of 03 years, extension shall be considered on the workload and efficiency of the candidate. The maximum period of contract shall be 05 years.
Remuneration	The remuneration shall be paid depending upon the qualification, experience and assessment/ recommendation of the Selection Committee. The payment shall be subject to deduction of applicable taxes.
