About- The Centre for Materials for Electronics Technology (C-MET) functions as an autonomous scientific society under Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY), Govt. of India. Besides augmenting core competence, C-MET envisions attainment of self-sufficiency in the sphere of Electronic materials, components and devices to cater to India’s strategic and industrial applications, exploiting indigenous resources of raw materials.

Doctoral degree in Chemistry/Physics/Materials Science/Electronics Science or Masters Degree in Engineering or Technology in Electrical/Electronics/Instrumentation/ Mechanical with

Job/Position Description- 

C-MET, Thrissur Lab, invites talented persons with research aptitude for the following posts in one of the scientific projects sponsored by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Govt. of India.

Duration of the Project:  upto13 January 2027.

The general nature of duties includes but not limited to the following:

(i) Principal Project Associate

• The Principal Project Associate will have to support the Chief Investigators in achieving the targets and deliverables of the project in a time bound manner. 
• He/she will have to handle/manage internal projects/product developments within the IICG project in association with collaborating institutes/industries. 
• He/she has to involve in the project planning and implementation, co-ordination between other researchers/collaborators/industries, manage research staff working with them, look after operation and maintenance of sophisticated equipments, characterization and analysis of samples, etc.

(v) Project Manager for Clean room

• Day to day management of the research facility, housing a large number of sophisticated semiconductor equipments.
• Maintaining Clean Room Facilities (Lithography systems, Etching systems, Deposition systems such as CVDs, Sputtering, Spin coating, Microscopes such as AFM, FESEM, Diffusion systems, Wire bonders, Profilometers, Furnaces etc.).
• Servicing and Maintenance of equipment and other related tools – Preventive and Breakdown.
• Tool time scheduling and managing productivity improvements 
• Planning and organizing for optimum utilization of laboratory equipments.
• Ensuring the users follow the class 100 & Class 1000 lab standards and safety regulations.
• Maintaining laboratory stocks (substrates, chemicals, consumables and other supplies etc.)

General Terms and Conditions:

1. All the Posts are purely temporary  and the appointment will  be initially for a period of One Year and may be extended  upto the completion of the Project. However, the performance of the staff will be reviewed on completion of six months service to decide the suitability of further retention. If found not suitable for further retention she/he will be terminated without any notice. 
2. On appointment, it will not confer any right on the appointee for claim for regular appointment.
3. Appointment of candidates are subject to verification of original documents.
4. Selected candidate will be required to produce a medical certificate of fitness in the prescribed form, from a Government Doctor not below the rank of Civil Surgeon and character certificates from two Gazetted Officers working in Central/State Government at the time of joining the post.
5. Selected candidate will be required to report for duty as mentioned in the offer (normally within 10 days from the date of offer) and no extension will be given.
6. Selected candidate will be required to work till the completion of the project and resigning from the post during the currency of the project period shall not normally be entertained.

• Only those candidates who are screened by a Committee will be considered for an Interview, for the final selection. 
• In case of the number of candidates are high, a written test may be conducted.
• The decisions of the Screening/Selection Committee are final and binding on all stakeholders.
• Influence in any manner will be treated as disqualification.
