About- Institute of Life Sciences (ILS), Bhubaneswar, an autonomous institute of the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India invites applications from Indian Nationals to join the following contractual positions under the NERBPMC program being implemented at New Delhi, India.
Research Job/Area- Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Genetics, or Zoology
Cancer Biology, specifically:
“Identification of the kinase and its inhibitor(s) that potentiates irinotecan-induced phosphorylation of the proto-oncogene EVI1 in colon cancer cells.”
Location- Institute of Life Sciences, Bhubaneswar, India
Eligibility/Qualification–
Essential:
- First-class Master’s degree or integrated Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Genetics, or Zoology from a recognized university.
- OR, First-class 4-year engineering graduate degree in Biotechnology from a recognized university or NIT/IIT.
Desirable:
- Minimum of 4 years laboratory research experience in solid tumor biology/leukemia biology/medicinal chemistry.
- At least one first or second-author paper published in a reputable journal in the related subject area.
Other:
- Age limit: 35 years as of 07.10.2025 (relaxation as per GOI rules).
Job/Position Description-
A walk-in interview is being conducted for the position of Project Research Scientist-I (Non-medical) under an ICMR-funded project at the Institute of Life Sciences (ILS), Bhubaneswar. The position focuses on researching kinase and its inhibitors related to colon cancer biology.
- Conduct laboratory research in cancer biology as specified in the project.
- The appointment is initially for six months, with the possibility of extension based on project continuity.
- Work under the guidance of Dr. S. Chakraborty (Principal Investigator).
Fellowship
- Rs. 56,000/- plus 20% HRA per month.
