Eligibility/Qualification–
Educational Qualification:
- Master’s Degree in Engineering or Technology or Doctoral Degree in Science from a recognised University or equivalent.
- Three years’ experience in Research and Development in Industrial and Academic Institutions or Science and Technology Organisation and Scientific activities and services.
Additional Requirements:
Candidates with a background in CSE/CS/IT would be an added advantage. Hands-on experience with cloud services (e.g., Azure, AWS) and on-premises server infrastructure.
Familiarity with building APIs and creating interactive data visualisations. Strong proficiency in Python for backend services and data processing.
Job/Position Description-
Applications are invited for the position of “Project Scientist-II” on a research project funded by BIRAC, Government of India. The project is to be completed at Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar. The details of the project and the aforementioned position are as follows:
Project Title: Extension and Digitalization of Indian Aphasia Battery (lAB)

Name of the Post: Project Scientist-II
Consolidated Monthly Pay: Rs. 67,000/- per month + HRA (@24% subject to the individual staying outside the campus and furnishing necessary rent receipt).
Main Responsibilities will include:
System Architecture & Data Management
Overseeing the transition from manual and local data storage systems to a centralised, scalable cloud or on-premises server infrastructure. This includes designing and deploying an automated data pipeline to securely receive data from an existing Python-based (PC) or Flutter-based (Android) patient app (already developed). You will add code in these patient apps to enable secure data transmission to the cloud.
Backend & API Development and Automated Reporting
Developing a robust backend and database solution for handling data from both PC and mobile apps. This includes analysing uploaded data to calculate relevant parameters. Implementing services for automated data analysis and the generation of comprehensive patient reports. Building secure RESTful API endpoints to expose these results for consumption by a separate doctor app. You will add code to the doctor app (development in progress) to receive the calculated data.
Real-Time Analytics & Visualisation and Compliance
Creating a dynamic, real-time dashboard/interface for telemonitoring that allows lab/admin users to visualise the patient data streams, etc., with detailed statistics, while ensuring compliance with data security and privacy protocols.
Expected System Architecture / Scope of Work:
The expected system would comprise of three interfaces: patient app (developed apps but requiring addition of cloud data upload code), doctor app (app currently in development and requiring code to receive calculated data), and lab/admin interface (dashboard for monitoring and reporting). The role focuses on enabling cloud capabilities in patient and doctor apps, performing cloud-based data analysis, and building the lab/admin dashboard.
Terms: 4 months (Extendible on successful completion and project extension by Funding Agency).
