About- The Institute for Stem Cell Science and Regenerative Medicine (inStem), is a state-of-the-art research institute in Bangalore, India, dedicated to the study of stem cells and regenerative biology with translational emphasis. An autonomous institute funded by the Dept. of Biotechnology (DBT), Govt. of India, inStem’s research structure is built on a core of collaborative research with a thematic focus. inStem’s mandate to allow this cross-disciplinary, multi-pronged approach to research, straddles the divide between clinical and laboratory research. Eligibility/Qualification–
Project Manager: One Position
Project Scientist-II: 67,000/- +24% HRA, PhD or Master’s degree in Engineering or Technology with 3 years’ experience in R&D.
PhD qualified candidates can be considered for Project Scientist 1 level (56,000/- +24%HRA), PhD or Master’s degree in Engineering or Technology
Preference will be given to applicants with experience in R&D diagnostic laboratories in the clinical or industry setting or past experience in the management of a biorepository for biological resources.
Project Associate-I: One Position
MSc/MVSc/Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technology: 25,000/- +24%HRA
National Test / GATE: 31000/- +HRA
Preference will be given to applicants with appropriate experience in R&D diagnostic laboratories in the clinical or industry setting
Technical Assistant: One position
BSc/ Three-year diploma in Engineering and Technology: 20,000/-+24%HRA
Increment of 15% for 3 years’ experience with a maximum ceiling of 4 revisions
Preference will be given to applicants with experience in R&D diagnostic laboratories in the clinical or industry setting and previous experience working with databases and excel spreadsheets
Job/Position Description-
- Project Manager (Project Scientist-II) – One
- Project Associate-I – One
- Technical Assistant -One
The Project Manager will coordinate operations in the Covid-19 testing laboratory and biorepository, oversee training of personnel and laboratory management. Responsibilities will include (but are not limited to)
- Management and training of staff working the testing laboratory and samples (swabs and peripheral blood) for the biorepository
- Supervision and coordination of receipt, processing, reporting and storage of clinical samples. Includes receipt (storage of late night/evening arrivals) of samples from various hospitals and districts.
- Oversight and management of supplies and inventory of the testing laboratory.
- Updating SOPs to increase the operational efficiencies of both the COVID testing laboratory and biorepository
The selected candidates will work (under supervision) in different modules of the testing laboratory and linked biorepository based on requirements. The Covid-19 laboratory has a 6-day week.
The initial appointment is for one year, renewable for a second year depending on performance review.
