Eligibility/Qualification–
Research Scientist (Scientist–II) – Position 1
- Essential Qualification:
Ph.D. in Biotechnology or allied sciences - Mandatory Experience:
Wet-lab experience in molecular biology and genetic engineering of microalgae at the Ph.D. level - Desirable Experience:
Experience in diatom genetic engineering and diatom biotechnology
Remuneration: ₹67,000 + HRA
Research Scientist (Scientist–II) – Position 2
- Essential Qualification:
Ph.D. in Biotechnology, Chemical Technology, or allied sciences and technologies - Desirable Experience:
Experience with photobioreactors, scale-up studies, and downstream operations for metabolite extraction and purification from microbial/algal biomass
Remuneration: As per Government norms
Junior Research Fellow (JRF)
- Essential Qualification:
M.Sc. in Biotechnology or allied sciences - Desirable:
Valid individual fellowship (CSIR/DBT-JRF/INSPIRE or any other national-level fellowship), preferably obtained within the last three years
Remuneration: ₹37,000 + HRA
Additional Note (PhD Admission):
- Candidates with a valid national-level fellowship will be eligible for Ph.D. admission in Biotechnology based on interview performance.
- Candidates with a valid scorecard but without fellowship may register for Ph.D. in Biotechnology subject to clearing the ICT Ph.D. entrance exam and interview.
Job/Position Description-
Applications are invited for multiple research positions under a Government-sponsored project focused on Diatom-driven carbon sequestration and sustainable biomanufacturing of value-added compounds. The positions include Research Scientist (Scientist–II) and Junior Research Fellow (JRF). Selected candidates will work on cutting-edge research involving microalgae/diatoms, biomanufacturing, and downstream processing. Appointments are initially for one year and may be extended up to the project duration based on performance and funding availability.
