Eligibility/Qualification–
Essential Qualification
- PhD in Chemistry / Environmental Science
OR - ME / M.Tech in Environmental Engineering / Chemical Engineering
(from a recognized university)
Experience
- Minimum 7 years of experience in:
- R&D in Industrial or Academic Institutions
- Science & Technology Organizations
- Scientific activities and services
Upper Age Limit
- 45 years (as on the last date of application)
Job Position Description –
CSIR–National Environmental Engineering Research Institute (CSIR-NEERI), Nagpur invites applications from eligible and interested candidates for engagement of Project Scientist-III on a purely temporary and contractual basis under the R&D project titled “Review and Update of National Implementation Plan (NIP) on Persistent Organic Pollutants (GAP-2822)”.

Designation: Project Scientist-III (PS-III)
The selected candidate will be responsible for:
- Field surveys and data collection related to manufacture, use, import/export of POPs
- Collection and analysis of environmental, product, and waste samples for POPs using GC and GC-MS
- Identification and assessment of POP-contaminated sites
- Report writing and preparation of technical documents for review meetings
- Development of POPs inventory as per UNEP guidelines
Desirable Qualifications
- Publications in the field of POPs monitoring
- Experience in analytical method development and validation
- Hands-on experience with GC-MS and tandem mass analyzers
- Experience in ultra-trace laboratory work
- Good communication and technical writing skills
Salary / Emoluments
- ₹78,000 per month + HRA
- 5% increment for every 2 years of experience in the same project
