Eligibility/Qualification–
Project Manager
- PhD in Life Sciences
- Minimum 4 years of post-PhD experience
- Proven experience in managing large, multicenter or relevant research projects (desirable)
Project Scientist-II
At least 1 year of experience in wastewater epidemiology, pathogen genomics, or pathogen biology (desirable)
PhD in Life Sciences
Minimum 3 years of experience
Age limit: 40 years
Job/Position Description-
The National Institute of Biomedical Genomics (NIBMG), an Institute of the Biotechnology Research and Innovation Council (BRIC), Department of Biotechnology, Government of India, invites applications for contractual positions under a BIRAC–Grand Challenges India funded, multi-institutional INSACOG project.
The project focuses on pan-India genomic surveillance of emerging, known, and priority viral and bacterial pathogens, including antimicrobial resistance (AMR), early warning systems, and variant identification to support public health responses.

- Overall coordination of all aspects of the multi-institutional INSACOG project
- Liaison with project teams at BRIC-NIBMG and partner institutes
- Ensure strict adherence to timelines and punctuality
- Expedite project execution to meet turnaround goals
- Oversee project updates, professional reports, and presentations
- Supervise laboratory records and documentation
Project Scientist-II
- Coordinate sample collection and laboratory workflows
- Perform data analysis and interpretation
- Prepare technical and scientific reports
- Support project execution and surveillance activities
Nature of Appointment
- Contractual position
- Initial appointment for one year
- Extendable based on performance and project requirements
