About- The Department of Mechanical Engineering, IIT Kanpur, in collaboration with Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals, New Delhi, invites applications for the position of Project Scientist in an ICMR funded project focused on the development and application of a Brain-Computer Interface (BCI)-based hand exoskeleton for neurorehabilitation in stroke patients.

Eligibility/Qualification–
M.Tech in Electrical/Electronics/Computer Science/Mechanical/Mechatronics/Bioelectronics/Biomedical/Robotics Engineering with at least 3 years of relevant experience, or
PhD in relevant fields with the necessary experience.
Skills and Expertise Required:
- Experience in EEG, EMG, or IMU signal recording and processing.
- Familiarity with neuroscience, cognitive science, bio-robotics, or related fields.

Designation: Project Scientist (As per ICMR norms)
Research Area: Neurorehabilitation, Brain-Computer Interface, Robotics Engineering
- Operate and assist with EEG, EMG, and IMU signal acquisition and processing for stroke patients.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on the development and training of the Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) system.
- Work with the hand exoskeleton to facilitate neurorehabilitation therapy for stroke patients.
- Assist in the design and improvement of rehabilitation protocols based on BCI feedback.
- Regular reporting and collaboration with the PI (Dr. Ashish Dutta) and Co-PI (Dr. Seema Grover).
