About- Banaras Hindu University is an internationally reputed temple of learning, situated in the holy city of Varanasi. This creative and innovative university was founded by the great nationalist leader, Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya, in 1916, through close cooperation with great personalities like Dr Annie Besant, who viewed it as the University of India. Banaras Hindu University was established by the Parliamentary legislation-B.H.U. Act 1915.

Eligibility/Qualification–
Essential Qualifications: Only those research scholars who have done their Ph.D. in Zoology/Biochemistry/Biotechnology/Bioinformatics/Molecular and Human Genetics/Pharmaceutical Sciences/Pharmaceutical Chemistry, or any related field, from an Indian University/Institute with an NIRF ranking of up to 50 (overall or in the respective areas), and or those who have done Ph.D. abroad in top 500 world ranking Universities (Q.S. or T.H.E.) will be eligible. Research scholars who have done their research in Institutions of National Importance are also eligible. The candidates must have a proven track record, with at least 2 published papers in Q1 or Q2 journals, or in SCOPUS /Web of Science-listed journals.
Desirable Qualifications: The candidate should have research experience in Proteomics, Immunology, Parasitology, Filarial biology, Pharmacology, and Nanotechnology for efficient drug delivery, with expertise in in-vitro and in-vivo studies, handling rats and mice, and evidence of original research publications will be preferred.
Upper age limit: The upper age limit is 45 (5 years’ relaxation for female/SC/ST/Physically Handicapped Candidates), and the other selection criteria for this fellowship (RJP-PDF) are as per the rules of the Government of India and Banaras Hindu University. Age relaxation will be granted to SC/ST/Physically Handicapped candidates as per the GOI rules.
Project Description-
Banaras Hindu University (BHU), recognized as an Institution of Eminence by the Ministry of Education, is inviting applications for the prestigious Raja Jwala Prasad Post-Doctoral Fellowship. This is a one-year fellowship designed to support outstanding early-career researchers in various scientific and social science disciplines. The university offers access to cutting-edge research laboratories and advanced scientific equipment to facilitate high-quality research.

- Conduct independent research in the relevant department under the guidance of the assigned mentor.
- Collaborate on ongoing projects using advanced laboratory facilities and instruments.
- Publish research findings in reputed journals (Q1/Q2/SCOPUS/Web of Science).
- Prepare project reports, participate in departmental meetings, and contribute to the academic community of BHU.
- Fellowship tenure: 12 months (from date of joining).
- Fellowship amount: ₹60,000 per month + ₹10,000 HRA and ₹50,000 contingency per annum (pro-rata).
