Eligibility/Qualification–

Assistant Professor Grade-I

• Ph.D. in an appropriate branch.
• First class or equivalent at the preceding degree.
• Very good academic record throughout.
• Minimum 3 years of industrial/research/teaching experience, excluding experience gained while pursuing the Ph.D.

Assistant Professor Grade-II

• Ph.D. in an appropriate branch.
• First class or equivalent at the preceding degree.
• Very good academic record throughout.

Applicants must upload a valid SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PD certificate issued by the competent authority in the prescribed format.

Job/Position Description- 

The Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IIT Roorkee) has announced a Special Recruitment Drive for Assistant Professor positions for candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBC, EWS, and PD categories with an outstanding academic and professional/research record. Applications are invited across multiple Departments, Schools, and Centres of IIT Roorkee.

Designation

• Assistant Professor Grade-I
  • Academic Pay Level-12
  • Pay Scale: ₹1,01,500 – ₹1,67,400
• Assistant Professor Grade-II
  • Academic Pay Level-10
  • Pay Scale: ₹57,700 – ₹98,200
  • Minimum starting pay: ₹89,800 at Cell No. 16

The selected faculty members will join IIT Roorkee as Assistant Professors and contribute to teaching, research, and academic activities within their respective Departments/Schools/Centres. The institute also promotes faculty collaboration with industry and other research/professional institutions, including research projects and consultancy activities.

Benefits

• ₹30,000/month fellowship for 3 years for eligible Assistant Professors joining on regular positions or initially on contract with provision for regularization.
• Joining/relocation travel reimbursement up to ₹1 lakh for those working in India and up to ₹1.5 lakh for those working abroad.
• Residential accommodation on campus, subject to availability.
• Professional Development Allowance of ₹3 lakh for 3 years.
• Faculty Initiation Grant of up to ₹20 lakh for 2 years upon submission of a research proposal.
• Additional grant of up to ₹2 lakh for laptop, printer, etc. at joining.
• Medical benefits, Children Education Allowance and LTC as per institute rules.
