Eligibility/Qualification–
Minimum Qualification:
- Scientific Assistant B (PSA-B): Sc. in Physics/ Mathematics with 60% marks
- Scientific Officer D (PSO-D): Full time PhD in science + 3 Years of work experience
Desirable:
- Keen interest in science education and outreach activities.
- Experience in teaching/ scientific writing/ development activities.
- Competence in explaining and communicating school level science and mathematics.
- Proficiency in Punjabi language (reading, writing and speaking) along with English for Scientific Assistant B (SA-B) position.

Recruitment of Project Staff Vigyan Pratibha Project at IISER Mohali
Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Mohali, a regional center for Vigyan Pratibha Project of HBCSE-TIFR Mumbai, invites applications for two (02) project staff positions:
- 01 position for the post of Scientific Assistant B (SA-B)
- 01 position for the post of Scientific Officer D (SO-D)
The project staff will be working under the Outreach Cell of IISER Mohali. Recruitment of the project staff will be for 1 year. Further extensions are subject to the performance and availability of funds for the project. The selection will be based on the shortlisting of applications followed by a personal interview.
Job Description: The candidate is expected
- to assist in the creation and distribution of educational materials under Vigyan Pratibha project.
- to assist in the organization of teachers’ training workshops at IISER Mohal
- to develop and maintain a professional relationship with the teachers of the workshop.
- to visit schools across the region (Chandigarh, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh) in order to help teachers in the implementation of the project in the schools.
- to develop a network of resource persons for various project activities.
- to attend resource generation camps for Vigyan Pratibha at Vigyan Pratibha regional centers.
- to have a good knowledge of documentation.
- to organize regular group meetings.
The candidate is also expected to display a strong commitment towards the science outreach activities and he/she should be ready to travel on short notice. PSO-D is expected to take lead in managing day-to-day activities of the project and coordinate with team members of the project at other regional centers.
Salary: INR 35,400/- + HRA (SA-B); INR 67,700/- + HRA (SO-D); A higher salary may be considered depending on eligibility and experience.
