About- Centre for DNA Fingerprinting and Diagnostics (CDFD), Hyderabad, invites applications from enthusiastic, young Indian researchers with an excellent academic record and proven scientific achievements for scientific positions in frontier areas of modern biology. The institute is fully funded by the Government of India and works in DNA fingerprinting, diagnostics and cutting‑edge biological research.
Research/Job Area-
For Scientist – IV (both Deputation and Direct Recruitment)

- Infection biology

For Scientist – III (Diagnostics Laboratory, CDFD)
- Clinical molecular and cytogenetic diagnostics with emphasis on:
- Human genetics
- PCR, Sanger sequencing, genotyping
- Microarray and next‑generation sequencing (NGS) workflows
- Quality systems and accreditation (e.g. ISO 15189, NABL)

Desirable Qualifications
The position is focused on clinical molecular and cytogenetic diagnostics and requires:
- Knowledge of the fundamentals of molecular biology and human genetics.
- Practical experience in performing and supervising:
- PCR
- Sanger sequencing
- Genotyping
- Microarray
- Next‑generation sequencing (NGS) workflows
in a clinical/diagnostic setting.
- Demonstrated experience with laboratory quality systems, such as:
- ISO 15189, NABL
- Equipment maintenance
- Compliance with national/international standards
- Proven ability to:
- Supervise staff and manage daily lab operations
- Train personnel
- Ensure efficient workflow and regulatory compliance

Key Responsibilities (Scientist – III – Diagnostics)
- Oversee established clinical molecular and cytogenetics diagnostics assays and standardize new assays as required.
- Perform and supervise NGS and Array CGH data analysis and interpretation.
- Manage mutation confirmation workflows (PCR, Sanger sequencing, genotyping).
- Train students / clinicians in genetic diagnostics.
- Develop new analysis and interpretation pipelines.
- Ensure laboratory test quality control and contribute to laboratory accreditation.
- Prepare draft clinical reports.

Scientist – IV
- Establish and lead a high‑quality, independent research program in modern biology.
- Supervise and mentor Ph.D. students and junior staff.
- Conceptualize innovative research, design experiments, and generate impactful scientific outputs.
- Obtain extramural grants and manage research projects.
- Foster collaborations within CDFD and with national/international partners.
- Contribute to institutional programs and an interdisciplinary scientific environment.
Scientist – III (Diagnostics Laboratory)
- Lead and manage clinical diagnostic workflows in molecular and cytogenetics laboratories.
- Maintain and improve quality systems and support accreditation (e.g., ISO 15189, NABL).
- Oversee and troubleshoot molecular assays and NGS/array‑based platforms.
- Train trainees and clinicians in genetic diagnostics and develop new diagnostic pipelines.
- Participate in interpretation and reporting of clinical findings.

- After submission, no editing is allowed; take a printout of the submitted application for sending as hard copy.
