Senior Project Associate (Senior PAT) Post at CSIR-CSMCRI Bhavnagar, Gujarat, India invites applications for Senior Project Associate (Senior PAT) from eligible and interested candidates

About- The Central Salt & Marine Chemicals Research Institute (CSIR) is seeking a Senior Project Associate (Senior PAT) for a one-post position. The position requires a doctoral degree in Science / Pharma with specialization in Phytochemistry, Natural Products, Organic Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Microbiology, or Biotechnology. The maximum age limit is 40 years. The selected candidate will work on the project “Bioprospecting of Seaweeds and Employing Forward Genetic Approaches to Target Identification of Bio-actives Derived from Seaweeds”. Experience in extraction, chromatographic separation, and structure elucidation of small molecules from natural sources using UV, IR, NMR, and MS techniques will be preferred. The application process is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project, and no TA/DA is admissible for attending the interview.

Eligibility/Qualification–

For Senior PAT: Doctoral Degree in any branch of Biological Science with specialization in Plant Molecular Biology / Plant Biotechnology.

Desirable: Knowledge of bioinformatics, transcriptomics, metagenomics, DNA fingerprinting, gene expression studies, and published doctoral work in SCI Journals.

Candidates with experience after Ph.D. will be preferred.

Age: The upper age limit for Senior-PATis 40 years as on date of Interview.(Age relaxation as per CSIR rules).

WP-02: Development of improved Kappaphycus and Gracilaria variants for better growth and stress tolerance through a Non-GMO approach

WP-03: Edible seaweed-based product(s) characterization and consumer acceptance

WP-04: Biostimulants with Stable Active Components and Targeted Mechanistic Insights

Duration: This position is purely temporary, initially for one year and subsequently extendable based on work performance up to project duration, whichever is earlier. It does not confer any right or claim for absorption in CSIR-CSMCRI.

This post is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project. The engagement of a project staff in different projects either in the CSIR – Central Salt & Marine Chemicals Research Institute, Bhavnagar or different Laboratories/Institutes of CSIR taken together shall not exceed 06 years in any case. It would, therefore, not confer any right/claim implicit or explicit for any candidate for claiming extension or absorption in CSIR-CSMCRI, Bhavnagar.
