About- The Vikram Sarabhai Postdoctoral Fellowship (VISHWAS) is an initiative by PRL to foster innovative research in fundamental science with societal implications. We invite highly motivated young doctorates to apply for this prestigious fellowship.

Research/Job Area- Cutting-edge research in fundamental science with an emphasis on societal applications related to ongoing research at PRL.

Location- Physical Research Laboratory (PRL), Ahmedabad, India

Eligibility/Qualification–

Indian nationals holding a PhD (awarded within the last four years).
Age limit: Under 35 years on the last date of application.
First-class academic record throughout the educational career.

Job/Position Description-

Conduct disruptive and innovative research in fundamental sciences.
Collaborate with PRL faculty members and participate in ongoing projects.
Prepare and present research findings in international forums.
Successfully complete annual reviews to maintain fellowship status.

This fellowship offers a monthly stipend of ₹1,00,000, along with HRA and other facilities as per PRL/DOS rules. Fellows can renew their fellowship annually for a maximum of two years, with a potential one-year extension if justified.

How to Apply-

Prepare a research proposal along with a detailed CV.
Arrange for at least three recommendation letters from referees who are not PRL faculty members.
Submit the application, including recommendation letters, to the Chairperson, PDF committee via email at pdf@prl.res.in.

Quarterly Deadlines:
- January Cycle: Applications accepted from September 01 to November 30 (Deadline: 2nd week of January).
- April Cycle: Applications accepted from December 01 to February 28/29 (Deadline: 2nd week of April).
- July Cycle: Applications accepted from March 01 to May 31 (Deadline: 2nd week of July).
- October Cycle: Applications accepted from June 01 to August 31 (Deadline: 2nd week of October).
