Research Assistant / Postdoc: The Computational Neurophysics lab at the University of Bremen is seeking a Research Assistant / Postdoc in Computational Neuroscience to study flexible information processing in neural networks, focusing on the visual system. Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Completed academic university degree (Master’s/University Diploma) in computational neuroscience, physics, computer science, or related fields
  • Doctorate in the field would be advantageous
  • Strong background in neural networks, dynamical systems, mathematics, and/or data analysis
  • Proficiency in programming, particularly Python
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken)

Job Description:
In this role, you will utilize network modeling, numerical simulation, and mathematical analysis to investigate flexible information processing in neural networks, particularly within the visual system. You will contribute to fundamental research on task-dependent coordination of brain areas for efficient information processing and the emergence of flexible circuits through learning schemes. Collaboration with Prof. Dr. Andreas Kreiter’s lab will involve studying selective attention in the visual system.
