About-  The National Institute of Technology Goa (NITGoa) is the region’s premier technical institute. NITGoa was established in 2010 by an act of parliament (NIT act 2007), and it is declared as ‘The Institute of National Importance. ‘ NITGoa is an autonomous institute functioning under the aegis of MHRD, Govt. of India. The campus is located at Farmagudi, Ponda, approximately 29 km southeast of Panaji, the capital of Goa, and it is a temporary campus. Eligibility/Qualification:– 

  • Nationality: Indian national.
  • Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctorate degree (e.g., D.Sc) from a recognized Institute/University.
  • Academic Performance: Minimum 6.5 CGPA on a 10-point scale grading system or 60% marks in Bachelor’s or Master’s level from a recognized Technical Institute or University in a relevant discipline. CGPA/Percentage relaxation as per GOI norms.
  • Ph.D. Completion: Apply within five years from the date of award of the Ph.D. degree (defense date). Candidates who completed their Ph.D. from NIT Goa can apply after 2 years of completion of their Ph.D. Defense viva-voce approval date.
  • Publications:
    • Engineering and Science: Minimum of 03 (three) publications as first author in SCI/SCIE or 03 (three) granted Indian/US Patents or a combination.
    • Humanities and Social Sciences: Minimum of 03 (three) publications as first author in ABDC/SSCI/Scopus indexed journals (non-paid)/UGC CARE-A or 03 (three) granted Indian/US Patents or a combination.
  • Age Limit: Upper age limit of 35 years at the time of application submission. Age relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST/OBC/Physically Challenged & Women candidates.
  • NOC: Applicants who are regular employees must produce a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their employing organization.

Job/Position Description- 

The National Institute of Technology Goa is inviting applications for Post-Doctoral Fellow (PDF) positions for the 2024-25 session. These full-time, temporary assignments are initially for one year, extendable up to three years based on performance. The program is offered in various engineering, science, and humanities departments.

  • Academic Responsibilities: Undertake academic duties such as lecture classes, tutorial classes, laboratory work, conduct of seminars, symposia, operation and maintenance of equipment, and computers, not exceeding 8 hours per week.
  • Research: Conduct quality research work.
  • Project Proposals: Assist the mentor (as Principal Investigator) in writing externally funded project proposals.
  • Co-guidance: Eligible to act as Co-guide for B.Tech/M.Tech students along with their Mentor with proper approvals.
  • Research & Teaching: Attached to the Department and Mentor(s) for full-time research and teaching in an approved area.
  • Progress Reports: Submit a comprehensive progress report to the Dean (R&C) office at the end of each semester.
