About- The Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science (IACS) is a society registered under Act XXI of 1860 and the corresponding State Act viz. the West Bengal State Registration Act 1961, with its headquarters at 2A & 2B, Raja S. C. Mallick Road, Calcutta – 700 032, West Bengal, India. It has a Governing Council with a number of members elected or nominated and the Registrar as its Non-Member Secretary. The Council has the functions, duties and power as envisaged in the Memorandum and Bye-Laws and as per the provisions of the relevant Act.

Eligibility/Qualification–
Essential qualification: PhD in Science. Candidates who have submitted PhD thesis, but yet to receive the degree are also eligible. But if selected, they will be receiving reduced fellowship (equivalent to SRF position) until the PhD degree certificate is submitted.
Desired past research experience: Expertise in chemical synthesis of metal complexes and hybrid perovskites, measurement of dielectric, ferroelectric, piezoelectric and catalytic properties in nanoscale (PFM, KPFM) and macroscale (PE loops, Piezovoltage). Experiences in high voltage and sensitive electronic measurement instruments (loop tester, SMUs, LCR Meter) handling are highly desirable. Experience in above mentioned research fields should be supported by the publication record and other academic indicators.
Job/Position Description-
Applications are invited from Indian Nationals for the post of Postdoctoral Research Associate (RA1) in the School of Applied and Interdisciplinary Sciences and Technical Research Centre (TRC), IACS, Kolkata (PI: Professor Suhrit Ghosh, Co-PI, Dr. Anuja Datta).
Tenure: This position is temporary (initially for 6-months and can be extended up to 2 years, subject to continuation of the project and recommendation of the research advisory committee at the end of the initial tenure. Candidates will have no right to claim (explicit or implicit) any post in the institute.
Fellowship: As per rules of IACS

Selection procedure: Applications will be shortlisted on the basis of past academic record, research publications, match of the past research expertise with desired requirements and other academic parameters, as decided by the selection committee. Only shortlisted candidates will be communicated via email and called for an interview for the final selection. Merely satisfying the essential qualification does not guarantee that a candidate will be shortlisted for interview. IACS holds the full right of not selecting any, in case suitable applications are not received.
Date of Interview: Tentatively in the 3rd week of July, 2025. Shortlisted candidates will be informed the schedule through email.
