The Raman Research Institute (RRI), a premier autonomous research institute under the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India, invites applications from eligible Indian Nationals for the regular position of Scientist A through Direct Recruitment. The selected candidate will play a critical role in scientific administration, academic coordination, and research communication, closely supporting the Director of the Institute.

Eligibility/Qualification–
Essential Qualifications
- M.Sc. in Physical Sciences or
- Engineering Degree in related fields
- Must have First Class in the qualifying degree
Desirable Qualifications
- PhD in Physical Sciences and/or related high-end technologies
- Strong academic background in Physics
- Postdoctoral research experience
- Prior experience in a similar scientific or academic administrative role
Age Limit
- Maximum 35 years as on the last date of application submission

Designation: Scientist A
The Scientist A will assist the Director of RRI in his role as Chief Executive and Academic Officer of the Institute. The position requires high levels of initiative, organization, communication, and multitasking to support academic governance and scientific operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Handling general scientific administration tasks related to the Directorate
- Preparing reports and official communications for Government of India, funding agencies, and stakeholders
- Coordinating scientific interactions with national and international delegations
- Organizing scientific events, conferences, and high-profile visits, including Nobel Laureates
- Drafting policy and engagement documents with academic, research, and industry partners
- Managing science communication, outreach activities, and daily functioning of the Directorate
