Most of the technical project positions are tenable at the Chennai Unit, while the Computer Science/Management Project Assistant-II position is based at Karaikudi.

Eligibility/Qualification–

Project Scientist-II – Chemistry

  • Ph.D. in Chemistry or equivalent
  • 5 years R&D experience
  • Desirable: specialization in PEM fuel-cell materials/hydrogen fuel cells, fuel-cell stacks and systems, and experience in building fuel-cell-powered systems and engines.
  • Maximum age: 40 years
  • Stipend: ₹67,000 + HRA/month

Project Associate-I – Chemistry

  • M.Sc. in Chemistry or equivalent
  • Desirable knowledge/experience in:
    • Hydrogen fuel cells
    • Polymer Chemistry
    • Membrane electrolytes
  • Maximum age: 35 years
  • Stipend: ₹25,000 + HRA/month

Project Associate-I – Physics

  • M.Sc. in Physics or equivalent
  • Desirable: Knowledge of hydrogen fuel cells and polymer chemistry
  • Maximum age: 35 years
  • Stipend: ₹25,000 + HRA/month

Project Associate-I – Physics/Mathematics

  • M.Sc. in Physics/Mathematics or equivalent
  • Desirable knowledge of MS Office, designing and government official software such as CPS, AMS, GST Web Portal, purchase/accounts systems.
  • One year of experience in Government Skill Development Training or Jigyasa Programme schemes is desirable.
  • Maximum age: 35 years
  • Stipend: ₹25,000 + HRA/month

Project Scientist-II – Engineering

  • Master’s/Integrated Master’s in:
    • Chemical Engineering
    • Mechanical Engineering
    • Automobile Engineering
    • Energy Engineering
  • 5 years R&D experience
  • Desirable specialization in PEM fuel-cell materials/hydrogen fuel cells, fuel-cell stack and system, and fuel-cell-powered systems/engines.
  • Maximum age: 40 years
  • Stipend: ₹67,000 + HRA/month

Project Associate-II – Mechanical Engineering

  • M.E./M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent; OR
  • B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with 2 years R&D experience
  • Desirable specialization in BMS design, including circuit design, PCB layout, RS485/CAN, battery modelling, DC-DC converters and battery thermal studies using ANSYS.
  • Maximum age: 35 years
  • Stipend: ₹28,000 + HRA/month

Project Associate-I – Mechanical Engineering

  • B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Desirable knowledge/experience in hydrogen fuel cells, 3D design software, manufacturing and assembly processes.
  • Maximum age: 35 years
  • Stipend: ₹25,000 + HRA/month

Project Associate-II – Electrical & Electronics Engineering

  • M.E./M.Tech in Electrical & Electronics Engineering or equivalent; OR
  • B.E./B.Tech in Electrical & Electronics Engineering or equivalent with 2 years R&D experience
  • Desirable specialization in BMS design and battery thermal studies.
  • Maximum age: 35 years
  • Stipend: ₹28,000 + HRA/month

Project Associate-I – Electronics & Communication Engineering

  • B.E./B.Tech in Electronics & Communication Engineering or equivalent
  • Desirable: Knowledge of BMS, C/C++ programming and dashboard development.
  • Maximum age: 35 years
  • Stipend: ₹25,000 + HRA/month

Project Assistant-II – Computer Science/Management

  • 3-year Diploma in Computer Science/Management or equivalent; OR
  • B.Sc. in Computer Science/Management or equivalent
  • Desirable: Database administration, MS Office proficiency and computer typing skills.
  • Maximum age: 35 years
  • Stipend: ₹20,000 + HRA/month

Age relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST/PwBD/Women candidates and 3 years for OBC candidates, or as per Government of India instructions. Final-semester/year students awaiting results are not eligible.

Job/Position Description- 

The selected candidates will work as temporary project personnel under CSIR-CECRI on various research projects. Depending on the position and specialization, the work may involve hydrogen fuel-cell research, PEM fuel-cell materials, fuel-cell stack/system development, battery management systems, battery modelling, electronics and programming, battery thermal studies, polymer chemistry, membrane electrolytes, manufacturing/assembly processes, database administration and project-related administrative activities.

The engagement is initially for six months, one year, or the duration of the project, depending on project requirements. It may be extended or curtailed based on project requirements, funding, satisfactory performance and other administrative considerations. The engagement does not confer a right to regular appointment or absorption in CSIR-CECRI.
