Eligibility/Qualification–
Candidates who cumulatively meet the following requirements may apply for this grant:
a) Hold a Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering, Informatics, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science or similar, obtained in the last three years before the application to this grant;
b) Post‐doctoral research is carried out in a host entity other than the one where the research work that led to the award of the Ph.D. degree was developed.
c) Do not exceed, with this scholarship contract, including renewals, an accumulated period of three years in this type of scholarship, followed or interpolated.
If the degree has been awarded by a foreign higher education institution, it must comply with the provisions of the Decree‐Law no. 66/2018, of August 16, and any formalities established there must be fulfilled until the time of signing the contract.
Job/Position Description-
Workplace: The work will be developed at the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP), under the scientific supervision of Professor João Manuel R.S. Tavares.
Grant duration: Initial duration of 12 months, with starting date predicted to September 2020, on exclusive basis regime, eventually renewable up to the end of the project.
Stipend: The grant stipend amounts to 1600,00€ according to the table of values of the grants awarded directly by FCT, I.P. in the Country (https://www.fct.pt/apoios/bolsas/valores ). The payment will be made by bank transfer.

‐ Motivation Letter,
‐ Certificates evidencing academic degree,
‐ Curriculum Vitae,
‐ Declaration on the honour that the candidate fulfills the requirement contained in paragraph c) of the admission requirements (template);
‐ other documents considered relevant by the applicant.
Selection procedure: Curricular assessment considering the following factors:
‐ a) Academic background (PhD in Electrical Engineering/Biomedical Engineering/Informatics ‐ 5 points; PhD in related areas ‐ 2 points);
‐ b) Research experience in Signal Processing and Analysis (up to 1 year ‐ 2 points, greater than 1 year ‐ 5 points);
‐ c) Publications in Signal Processing and Analysis (one publication ‐ 2 points, more than one publication ‐ 5 points)
- The 4 candidates with a rating equal to or higher than 5 points in the best‐classified curriculum assessment will be selected for the interview (maximum 5 points).
- The candidates with a rating lower than 5 points in the curricular assessment will not be selected.
- The final grade is computed adding the curricular assessment with the interview.
