Eligibility/Qualification–
The applicant should have a PhD in Physics/Optics/Photonics with an expertise or background in experimental atomic, molecular and/or optical physics, photonics, instrumentation, etc.
Desirable criteria include background and experience in laser cooling, ion trapping, precision laser spectroscopy, frequency metrology etc. Proficiency in one or more of the following tools/languages/technologies shall be useful: Python/ Mathematica / Zemax/ COMSOL/ ANSYS/ LabView/ VHDL/ VERILOG/ etc.
Job/Position Description-
The Precision Measurement Lab (PML) at IIT Tirupati is looking for a postdoctoral fellow under the CHANAKYA Post Doctoral Fellowship Scheme to work on a project related to the development of portable atomic clocks for quantum positioning applications. The applicant should have a PhD in Physics/Optics/Photonics with an expertise or background in experimental atomic, molecular and/or optical physics, photonics, instrumentation, etc.
The postdoctoral fellowship is supported by funding from the TIH (Technology Innovation Hub) known as iNiF (IIT Tirupati Navavishkar Innovation Foundation) at IIT Tirupati in the Positioning and Precision Technologies (PPT) vertical under the NM-ICPS (National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber Physical Systems) at IIT Tirupati.
Remuneration/ Fellowship:
- The selected candidates will receive a monthly fellowship of Rs. 80,000/- per month + HRA as applicable as per norms.
- The selected candidate will be required to start work within one month after the acceptance of the offer letter.
- The position is initially offered for 1 year with a possible extension to 2 more years subject to satisfactory appraisal, performance review and availability of funding from iNiF, Tirupati or till the end of the project, whichever comes first, and is renewable annually based on performance.
