About- Indian Institute of Technology Palakkad, earliest among the 3rd generation of IITs, started functioning from the academic year of 2015-16. The institute is currently functioning from two campuses- a temporary campus at the Ahalia Integrated Campus, Kozhipara which is about 25 km from the Palakkad railway station and 45 km from Coimbatore airport and a vibrant transit (Nila) campus with world-class sustainable green buildings on the Main Campus site about 7 km from the Palakkad Railway Station, adjacent to the Coimbatore Kanyakumari National Highway.

Eligibility/Qualification–
Qualification:
Ph.D. with minimum 3 years experience or Masters Degree in Science/ Technology/ Management with minimum 6 years experience or Bachelor’s Degree in Science/ Technology with minimum 10 years experience
Experience: Several years experience working in an Industrial environment and engaging with industrial partners. Demonstrable strong communication skills are essential along with excellent organizational skills.
Desirable: Good connections with senior management in Industry (CEO/CXO/CTO, MD, Chairperson), knowledge of academic research environment, and Intellectual Property Management.

Industry Liaison Officer
- Develop and implement an ongoing strategy for identification, prospecting, and stewardship of externalpartners that will lead to collaborative research and development activities with IIT Palakkad.
- Serve as a primary contact for corporate inquiries regarding research partnerships, start-up businessopportunities, access to research centres, institutes and programs, connections to faculty expertise, facilities and equipment, networking events, as well as other activities and programs that respond to corporate needs and interests.
- Identify, develop and manage relationships with potential companies for inclusion in Industry-connectedprograms of the Institute.
- Manage interactions between current Industrial partners and the Institute.
- Enhance the engagement of Industrial partners and facilitate commercial deployment of IntellectualProperty developed within the Institute.
- Actively engage with IIT Palakkad researchers to develop a deep understanding of the expertise at theInstitute to match companies to priorities, researchers, and funding programs.
- Identify and manage the participation of industry partners in the proposal preparation process, to aid inleveraging industry-sponsored funding and helping to cultivate and secure appropriate partnership agreements.
- Help in establishing internships for students and researchers in Industry, Industry mentors for innovation,visiting faculty from Industry, training programs for Industry personnel.
